Raising Good Dogs is a resource for dog owners who want practical, honest guidance on training, health, behavior, and everyday life with a dog. We work with a limited number of brands, agencies, and creators each year on collaborations that genuinely serve that audience. If you make or market something dog owners would actually want to know about, we would love to hear from you.

Who We Like to Work With

We are selective, not because we are exclusive for its own sake, but because our readers trust us to only mention products, services, and ideas that hold up. You can read more about the people behind this site and why we started it on our About Us page. Collaborations tend to work best with:

  • Pet product brands (food, treats, gear, grooming tools, safety equipment)
  • Veterinarians, trainers, and canine behaviorists with real credentials
  • Dog-focused apps, tech, and subscription services
  • Shelters, rescues, and reputable breed or welfare organizations
  • Photographers, illustrators, and creators making dog-related content
  • Publishers and researchers with studies or data relevant to dog owners

We generally do not accept collaborations that promote unsafe training methods, unverified health claims, or products that conflict with the values in our Editorial Policy.

Types of Collaborations We Consider

Every partnership is evaluated on a case-by-case basis, but the formats below are the ones we most commonly say yes to:

  • Sponsored articles written or reviewed by our team, clearly labeled as such
  • Product reviews based on real, hands-on use with an animal we know and trust
  • Expert contributions from vets, trainers, and behaviorists, with a short bio and credentials
  • Affiliate partnerships for products we already recommend or would recommend independently
  • Giveaways and joint promotions tied to genuinely useful products, not just brand exposure
  • Research or data collaborations, such as surveys or studies about dog ownership

We do not accept payment in exchange for guaranteed positive coverage. If a product does not perform well, we will say so, or we will decline to publish the review at all. This protects both our readers and the long-term credibility of any brand we work with.

Content Standards We Hold Every Collaboration To

Whatever the format, collaborative content on this site follows the same standards as everything else we publish:

  • It has to be accurate. Health and training claims are checked against current, reputable sources before anything goes live.
  • It has to be useful. We are not interested in filler content built purely around keywords or backlinks.
  • It has to be safe. We will not publish anything that encourages harsh training methods, ignores a dog's welfare, or ignores your own veterinarian's advice in favor of a sales pitch.
  • It has to be honest about the relationship. Any paid, gifted, or affiliate arrangement is disclosed clearly to readers, in line with our Disclosure page and our Affiliate Disclaimer.

These standards are not negotiable, even for paid partnerships. We would rather turn down a collaboration than publish something that misleads a dog owner trying to make a good decision for their pet.

Disclosure and Transparency

Whenever we publish sponsored content, accept free products, or use affiliate links within a collaboration, we say so plainly, usually near the top of the article. This is not just a legal formality; it is part of how we maintain trust with people who come back to this site again and again for advice. If you are new to how we handle sponsored relationships, our Disclosure page walks through it in detail, and it is worth a quick read before you send a proposal.

What We Need From You to Get Started

To help us evaluate a pitch quickly and fairly, please include the following in your first email:

  • A short description of your brand, organization, or personal work
  • The specific product, service, or idea you would like us to consider
  • What kind of collaboration you have in mind (review, sponsored post, affiliate, expert piece, etc.)
  • Any relevant links, media kits, or samples of previous work
  • Your proposed timeline, if you have one

We read every proposal that comes in, but we cannot always respond individually to pitches that are not a good fit for this site's focus on dog training, health, and welfare.

How to Reach Us

The best way to start a conversation is by email at [email protected]. You are also welcome to use our Contact page if you would rather fill out a form. Please put "Collaboration" in your subject line so it reaches the right person without delay. We try to respond within a week, though during busy periods it may take a little longer.

If your interest is more about commenting on articles, sharing feedback, or engaging with our community rather than a formal partnership, our Community Guidelines are a good place to start instead. We look forward to hearing what you have in mind.
